INSURANCE

In accordance with the legal provisions and insurance rules, when using a rented car the client is insured against liability for damage to third parties whilst the vehicle is insured against theft and fire. Car insurance against theft does not apply if the client has lost the driving licence or the car keys. In the event of a traffic accident, the client will participate 20% in the costs of damage if the traffic police determines their culpability during the investigation.

The client will be liable for the damage to the vehicle caused while they were using it, as well as for the damage arising from non-use (the condition of the damaged vehicle during the repair period if the damage was caused by the client). The cost of damage due to which the vehicle was not used shall be equivalent to the lump sum of daily rental fee according to the current price list. When concluding the rental agreement, the client may insure him/herself against the said risks by paying a daily premium set in the current price list.

Regardless of the potential buyout of the damage value, the client shall be liable:

  • For the damage to the vehicle caused under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
  • If the damage was caused intentionally or due to gross negligence while driving;
  • If the client did not possess a valid driving licence at the moment when the damage occurred.

Should the client violate any of the provisions or conditions, they will compensate VBI Rent a Car for any damage arising from such violation, the extent of which will be determined by VBI Rent a Car.
